    Dear Partners in Learning,
Welcome to Kindergarten at Margaret C. Clifford School! My name is Mrs. Pamela Moore, and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student this year. This is a co-teaching classroom that contains one general education teacher (myself) and one special education teacher (Mrs. Jennifer Agostini).  Together, we will work as a team to give your child a dynamic and well-rounded Kindergarten experience! We have been busy preparing for the start of school, and I am sure you have as well.  We know this year will be unique, but first and foremost, we want you to know that we are here for you and your student, and we will walk you through these challenging times. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns as we navigate this experience together!  Please take note of a few tips below to help alleviate some “first day jitters.”
Important First Day of School Items:
On the first day of school, unless your child has a medical exemption per our school nurse, your child must wear a mask in the classroom at all times.  Please pack 1-2 extra masks in your child's backpack in the event the one they are wearing becomes soiled and please label masks with your child's name on the inside if possible.  We certainly want to ensure the right mask stays with the right child! We will do our best to help your child with this, as we know wearing a mask might be challenging for some.  Please have your child practice wearing their mask as much as possible before school starts.  In addition, your child should bring a backpack, a spill-proof refillable water bottle, a spare change of clothes to be kept in the classroom, and a paint smock (old t-shirts are great!).  Please label all of these items with your child's name.
    Health Screening:
You will be required to complete a health screening at home each morning and return a form to school indicating that your child is healthy and fever-free.  PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THIS IMPORTANT FORM.  If your child does not have the form completed upon their arrival to school, they could be excluded from the classroom until the nurse is able to contact you and verify your child's wellness.  If your child is exhibiting signs of ANY illness, please keep them home out of an abundance of caution.  Attendance policies will be more flexible this year to encourage our families to be as prudent as possible in keeping their children home if they are not feeling well.
On the main Kindergarten website, you will find a list of required supplies for your child.  Please take note of these items and send them to school by September 18.  Feel free to send materials in a little bit at a time to make it more manageable for your child to carry.  In the interest of limiting the sharing of materials in the classroom, we have included a classroom supply list specific to our class with a few additional items that your child will likely need in Kindergarten this year.  Please have your child bring these to school as soon as possible.  Your child will have designated spaces in the classroom to store these items safely while avoiding cross-contamination. You can access this supply list under the "Supply List" tab right here on my website.  :-)
During the first few weeks of school, many important forms/notices will be sent home through your child’s school folder and posted on our class Google Classroom site. You will receive a code via email to join our Google Classroom site.  This is a closed site, exclusively for our classroom parents and students.  Please check your child's folder and our Google Classroom site DAILY and review the materials inside. Please return any forms ASAP for processing. Please feel free to contact us with any questions (856-241-1552 ext. 3125 or pjmoore@swsdk6.com and jagostini@swsdk6.com).
We know this information can feel a bit overwhelming, so please remember to take this year one day at a time. We will be here with you every step of the way. Our number one priority is helping your student feel relaxed and safe at school, and our hope is that you will feel confident that your child is in loving and capable hands!  We look forward meeting you and your student in the near future!
    See you soon!
    Mrs. Moore
