• All About Me

Hi!  If you're reading this, chances are I'm your child's kindergarten teacher this year!  Every year is a new adventure because every year my class is filled with brand new students who are so unique.  This is my third year teaching Kindergarten - I spent ten years at Stratton teaching first grade before that.  I love being able to use my first grade experience to help my kindergarten students be fully prepared for next year!

This year my classroom theme is Stitch!  I'm a huge lover of all things Disney, and Stitch is my favorite. I can't wait to get to know each new member of my "ohana".  I hope that getting to know a little bit about me helps you to feel more comfortable with sending your most precious gift into my room this year ;)

    My favorite book is...

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen

I absolutely love to read!  I'm sort of obsessed with Barnes & Noble, especially my nook eReader, where I read everything from sci-fi to historical fiction and everything in between (currently obsessed with several different fantasy series).  My favorite children's book is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst.  I read it several times each year!  My favorite classic children's literature piece is Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie.

    My favorite color is...

          Grey

When I grow up I want to be...

A teacher!  In all honesty, I decided when I was a first grader that I wanted to teach primary grades when I grew up - and now I am!  If I could do anything else for a career, I would be a writer.

     I like to eat...

Everything!  Okay I'm kidding....kind of.  If I could only eat or drink one thing forever it would be Starbucks dark roast coffee, black.  I couldn't live without my Keurig machine.

My favorite candy is Peanut M&M's! I also love dark chocolate, English Toffee and Nutella.  If I had to choose a favorite REAL food it would probably be homemade baked macaroni and cheese.

    My favorite sport is...

Hockey (and baseball and football). I am a HUGE sports fan and enjoy watching sports on tv and especially in person.  Although you may prefer to not know which teams I pledge my allegiance to...

My favorite physical activity is yoga.  When I can, I enjoy taking my stand up paddle board out on the lake and shooting target practice with my archery bow.  If I have to sweat, I enjoy Zumba.  I sort of hate running, so for me most other sports are for watching and not participating.

    My pet is...

Gryffin - a 9 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix (he's a small bit Australian Shepherd).  He's intelligent and spunky but sadly not very friendly around other animals or strangers.  BUT if you give him a chance to get to know you, he is such a love bug!  I'm a huge animal lover and I adore my Gryffin.

    I am special because...

I refuse to outgrow my imagination.  (Teaching five year olds helps with this one!)

    My favorite TV show is...

Good Morning America.  I'm addicted to the morning news!
I also tend to binge watch my favorite TV dramas and reality shows from my DVR, and I love all those baking shows on Netflix!

Fun Facts:  I am a big nerd - I love all things superhero - especially Batman.  I've seen every single Marvel movie multiple times.  I have a shamefully large Funko POP! collection.  Baking is a hobby of mine.  I can quote the Princess Bride.  I will never outgrow Disney! Ariel and Belle are my favorite princesses.  I LOVE visiting Disney World (I've learned my way around the parks like a pro), and I know all the words to almost every Disney songs! I'm constantly listening to music.  My iTunes library is out of control with music of all genres, but mostly pop and country.  I love going to concerts, live theatre, and sporting events.  My birthday is February 1st and I celebrate all month long.  My favorite animal is a panda bear.

I hope that getting to know a little bit about me makes you feel more connected to our kindergarten family!
