• Mrs. Dougherty

    Dougherty

    Where were you born

    Woodbury, NJ; Underwood Hospital

What was the name of your Elementary School

East Greenwich School District (I was part of the only class that went through every building the district ever owned.)

Who was your favorite teacher and why:

I have two actually. As a Kingsway alumni my two favorite teachers were Mr. and Mrs. Eitel. Mr. Eitel was my band director and Mrs. Eitel was my English teacher, play director, drama club director, and she helped us with color guard in marching band. They were both like my parents away from home and I admired them both greatly from their teaching techniques to the way they both took their time and really made us feel like we were their own kids, always pushing us to do and be the best we can be.

What activities were you involved in growing up:

In high school I was part of the Kingsway Marching Unit; I participated in the drama club and was part of all the shows at Kingsway from the time I was in seventh grade.

In the summers I was a cast member of Mainstage Center for the Arts which I started when I was in 4th grade and continued through my senior year of high school.

I was also a girl scout from the time I was 5 earning my Gold Award my junior year of high school at the age of 17.

Where do you like to vacation

My favorite place for short trips is Ocean City, NJ but for big vacations I love to go with my big group of friends to Outer Banks, NC.

    An interesting fact about you

In college I did a semester abroad in London, England where I was able to travel all over Europe. I was also able to sing at Carnegie Hall in NYC with my college choir when I returned home.
