    State Aid Failing to Keep Up

    ·  State Aid is down 19% since 2001-2002

    ·   In 2001, state support for the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District equaled $5,001 per student.

    ·   In the current 2016-2017 school budget, state aid per pupil was reduced to $4,034. This represents a 19% reduction over a period     of 15 years.

    ·  $2.36M below adequacy.

    ·  $5.6M underfunded annually by the State of NJ.

    ·  $3221.00 underfunded per student

     

    State Continues to Shift Burden onto our Taxpayers

    ·  While State Aid per pupil has decreased, local school taxes have increased by 270% since 2001.

    ·  $2,347 (2001) to $8,683 (2016)

    ·  Increase in school taxes levied by town over the last 10 years to support operating budget and debt    service:

    ·  Woolwich Township: 116%

    ·  Swedesboro: 75%
