     Miss Oliva

What college(s) did you attend and what degrees(s) did you earn?

I went to West Chester University of Pennsylvania where I earned my degree in Early Grades Preparation.

What activities were you involved in when you were in college?

I didn't play sports or join any clubs while I was in college. Instead, I studied very hard and put a lot of time into my schoolwork!

Who inspired you to become a teacher?

My mom has taught for 18 years, so she was the first person to inspire me. However, I have had MANY fabulous teachers in my life. The ones who stick out the most are Ms. Mack, Mrs. Tesmer, Mr. Jost, Mrs. Arra, and Mr. Baker. I could go on forever though!

What hopes do you have for your students’ future?

My hope for the future of my students is that they stay kind and respectful, and that they each find a job or career that they are passionate about!

Were there any other careers you thought about before choosing teaching?

I always knew that I wanted to work with children. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 4, but when I got older I thought about being a librarian in a school or teaching middle school instead of elementary.
