Math Activities

• Counting
  • Practice counting by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s ... all the way to 120 
• Money
  • Practice identifying coins and their values
• Time
  • Practice telling time to the hour and half hour on an analog clock.  Learn the difference between AM and PM.
• Math Facts 
  • By the end of 2nd Grade, students are expected to answer 100 addition and subtraction problems (sums up to 20) in 5 minutes.  That is an average of 20 problems per minute.  
  • Ways to practice Math Facts at home:
    • Reflex Math (on the computer or ipad using your homeroom teacher's log in - information can be found on her website)
    • Flash cards (homemade or store bought)
    • Worksheets
    • Dominoes (games to play using dominoes)
