Our shiny gym floors are already squeeking with activity. I have been reviewing all the gym rules, procedures, and expectations with all of my classes. Icebreaker games and quick activities followed the talks and we got the students moving in the right direction.
This month the students will be placed into their squads and be reintroduced to the HARKER warmup routine. The routine which has them slowly building up their cardiovascular endurance levels by increasing the length of the warmup time a minute each month.
We are soon going to open the gym divider and will combine classes and play a a huge group game. The students love playing these huge games and they get to see some of their friends from other classes.
We are going to wrap up the first month of school by starting the FALL Physical Fitness testing. The five tests help us record each childs' current fitness level. Then in the spring, we administer the tests again and look for improvement.
