• Welcome to
    Mrs. Teague's Classroom

My name is Dana Teague and I am one of the ACES teachers at the Harker School and the Gifted and Talented teacher.  I have been a teacher in the district since 2008, and have taught 3rd through 5th grade special education.  Currently, I have my Masters in Reading and am a certified Reading Specialist and have a Supervisor Certification as well.  This year I am proud to state that I am an adjunct in the Reading Department at Rowan University and a member of this year's NJ Council for Teaching and Learning through the Department of Education.  Finally, I have been a part of the I&RS (Intervention and Referral Services) team since 2008, and have been the co-chair of the team since 2012.
Besides teaching, I have a passion for the Arts.  I have a second degree in Music and a minor in Dance.  I am the co-creator and co-director of the 5th Grade Drama Club at Harker School.  Also, I choreograph for the musicals at Glassboro High School and teach tap, jazz, and ballet, at Let's Dance Studio in Glassboro, NJ.
As you may already know, the goal of ACES (Academic Coaches Enhancing Skills) is to use intervention strategies to enhance your child’s academic abilities in a specific skill.  The programs I use in the small group setting are school approved curriculums that are not only geared to your child’s academic needs, but are also aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
For the Gifted and Talented program, we will be focusing on STEAM and student centered learning projects. Their projects and activities this year are all geared towards their advanced abilities in a variety of subjects including Reading and Math, as well as involving them to apply these skills to some real world concepts.  Please check out my Gifted and Talented page, as well as the Enrichment Newsletter Page for more information.
