“Our intention is to create a learning community for parents of students receiving special education services,
teachers and administrators. We also provide input to the district on issues concerning students with
disabilities. Through education and collaboration, the best outcomes for our children can be achieved."
We are a group of parents who work closely with the Special Education Department to provide educational
workshops and share important information on community based resources.
SEPAC meetings/workshops are generally held on the first Thursday of each month and are subject to change. Visit www.swedesboro-woolwich.com and use the SEPAC tab for more information. You can receive the SEPAC Newsletter, reminders for meetings/workshops, community resources/events, or request to join our private Facebook group by emailing us at SWsepac@gmail.com
ABC’s of Workshop Etiquette: Always be respectful. Be quiet when the presenter is speaking and silence cell phones. Communicate your questions on index cards to be collected and presented at the end of the workshop.
What is the purpose of SEPAC?
* To provide direct input to the district on the policies, programs, and practices that impact services and supports for the children with disabilities and their families.
* To foster a collaborative relationship between parents and school district staff.
* To create opportunities for parents to become more knowledgeable about the special education process and advocate more effectively on behalf of their children.
Some of the parents in our district have undergone specific Parent-to-Parent training through SPAN (Statewide Parent Advocacy Network). If you have a specific concern about your child that is best answered by another parent, we will do our best to direct you to a Parent-to-Parent support representative. Please direct your request to: email@example.com
**SEPAC is not a forum for parents to raise specific concerns about their child and his/her IEP. Of you have a concern about your child's Individualized Educational Program, please contact his/her teacher and/or case manager directly. You can also contact the Director of Special Services, Heather Worrell, at firstname.lastname@example.org
