Welcome December 5-23, 2022

"It's beginning to look a lot like....

  • DLM Testing
  • Progress Reports
  • CBI Trip Preparation
  • Maintaining a Consistent Schedule
  • Continued Progress

Tis' the season to be busy at home and school.  Our goal this month is to prepare the students for instruction outside of the classroom.  We are looking forward to observing how our students generalize skills from the classroom to the community this month.  We are fortunate to have the classroom teachers, aides, BCBA, case manager and related service providers join us on our Community Based Instruction (CBI) Trip.  This month we've been reading adapted stories related to the trip; completing functional skills related to shopping and eating in a restaurant in the classroom; watching videos to see how "Buddy" interacts in the community.

Our students are also completing the Dynamic Learning MAPS state testing this month.  There are approximately 30-45 testlets that our students will complete in the areas of math, reading and science.  The modified skills are aligned with the state curriculum in each grade level area.

Because there's a lot of hustle and bustle at this time of the year, our focus will continue to be on observing a consistent routine and schedule within the classroom.  Skills related to their IEP goals will continue to be addressed.  Parents will receive progress reports this month. Please contact us with any questions.

Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year and holiday season!
